Tips For Making These Eggnog Holiday Drinks

  • Chill Your Eggnog. If you are making your own eggnog, let it chill in the fridge for at least a couple hours, or overnight before making the drinks below.
  • Garnish your drink. Garnish for Christmas drinks include whipped cream (try this brown sugar whipped cream), sprinkles or chocolate shavings. A dash of nutmeg or cinnamon pairs well with eggnog.
  • Make vegan eggnog. For guests that are vegan or dairy free, use a vegan eggnog for these recipes instead.
  • Storing Eggnog: Store homemade eggnog in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Store bought eggnog will last 5 to 7 days in the fridge once opened.

FAQ

Is Eggnog A Christmas Drink?

Typically eggnog is made with whiskey or rum, but you can add basically any type of alcohol you want into it. The recipes below use vodka, brandy, Baileys, RumChata and more.

Can you buy eggnog year round?

No. Generally eggnog starts to be sold in stores at the end of October, up until Christmas. But you can easily make your own any time of the year.

Do you drink eggnog hot or cold?

Eggnog is traditionally served cold, but some people prefer to serve it warm.
