The Best 2 Ingredient Shots

Published: Aug 26, 2024 by Ali

These 2 Ingredient Shots are delicious shot recipes that are easy to make and perfect for a large party.

This list of two ingredient shots are all made with only 2 ingredients. Some are layered, and others require a cocktail shaker. But either way, it is super fast to whip up a batch of one of these shots in just a few minutes.

This list contains both sweet, dessert-like shots as well as strong spirit-forward shots. There are also some that are perfect for different themed holidays (like Valentine’s, Birthdays or St. Patrick’s Day), so you’re sure to find a recipe that fits your needs.

Tips For Making These 2 Ingredient Shots

  • Use creative shot glasses. If you are serving shots at a party, creative and unique shot glasses can make your shot more presentable. Try these mini mason jar shot glasses for example, or these heart shot glasses for Valentine’s Day.
  • Chill your ingredients. If you are making layered shots, it is especially important to chill your liqueurs in the fridge or freezer before pouring the shot. This makes sure the shot is served extra cold.
  • Use a bar spoon. If you are having trouble properly layering shots, use a bar spoon. Pour each layer down the back of the bar spoon so it hits the side of the shot glass before landing on the layer below. This will help create nice and crisp layers.
  • Make them in advance. These shots are all easy to make in advance. Just make sure to store them in the fridge until you are ready to serve them. Avoid jostling any layered shots so the layers don’t blend.
