Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Two Ingredient Shot — This is one of the most basic shot recipes to make. You just need Jagermeister and Goldschlager.
- Gold Stars — The gold flakes in the Goldschlager act as “stars” in this Starry Night Shot for a fun effect.
- Great For A Crowd — This shot is both easy to make and has a unique look, making it a great shot to serve at parties or for a group of friends.
Ingredients
- Goldschlager: Goldschlager is a cinnamon-flavored liqueur that has flecks of real gold in it. Goldschlager is probably the most common cinnamon liqueur, but you can use any type of cinnamon schnapps that you have available.
- Jagermeister: Jagermeister is a digestif which is infused with a variety of herbs, fruits and spices. You should be able to find it in the liqueur section of your local liquor store.
How To Make A Starry Night Shot
Step 1: Add the Goldschlager and Jagermeister to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Step 2: Shake well and strain into a chilled shot glass.
Expert Tips
- Add in some edible glitter. If you really want to amplify the “starry nights” effect, add in some edible glitter or edible gold flakes. You can use gold flakes or even try colored glitter for a multicolored sky. The Goldschlager does have gold flakes in it, but not a lot per shot.
- Use creative shot glasses. If you are serving these for a party, try some gold shot glasses.
- Stir before serving. The gold flakes will settle to the top or bottom of the shot glasses after pouring. Gently stir the shots before serving for the full star effect of stars swirling in the sky.
Recipe FAQs
Yes you can, however I think this recipe works best as a shot as it is quite strong.
There are no great substitutes for these liqueurs. However, if you just care about the “star” effect, rather than the taste, you can choose any black or even blue colored shot and add in edible gold flakes. Try this Black Cadillac Shot or this Blue Kamikaze Shot for example.
