  • Holiday shot recipe — This is a great shot recipe to make around the holidays for gatherings with friends and family.

Ingredients

The ingredients needed to make the Burt Reynolds shot.
  • Butterscotch Schnapps: Use whatever type of butterscotch schnapps you have available. Not every liquor store carries butterscotch schnapps, but any type of butterscotch flavored liqueur will do.
  • Spiced Rum: Use your favority type of spiced rum. Note that spiced rum is not the same as dark rum. Spiced rum is infused with spices, such as cinnamon, cloves and ginger.

How To Make A Burt Reynolds Shot

Step 1: Add the butterscotch schnapps and spiced rum to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Pouring the spiced rum into a cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Shake well for 20 seconds until the outside of the cocktail shaker is frosted and strain into your shot glass.

Expert Tips

  • Make it creamy. If you want to turn this shot into a creamier, more dessert-like shot, try adding in a dash of Baileys Irish Cream. For added flavor, try Salted Caramel Baileys or Tiramisu Baileys.
  • Chill your shot glasses. This shot tastes better when it is served ice cold. Chill your shot glasses in the fridge or freezer for 30 minutes before preparing them.
  • Serve them in textured shot glasses. Since it is a uniform yellow-ish color, this shot looks most presentable when served in textured shot glasses, rather than smooth ones.
