Description
This delicious, creamy peanut butter coffee latte is the best protein-filled coffee drink for breakfast!
Ingredients
Scale
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 shot espresso
Instructions
- Add the milk, peanut butter and sugar to a small saucepan. Heat on medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the peanut butter. Continue to heat the milk until it is almost boiling. This will take about 5 minutes. Don’t let the mixture boil. Decrease the heat if needed. There should be steam coming off of the milk, but no bubbling.
- Remove the saucepan from the stove. Use a handheld frother to froth the milk and peanut butter mixture. There should be a small layer of foam on the top.
- Using a spoon to hold back the top foam layer, pour the milk over the shot of espresso. Then pour or scoop the foam layer on top. Enjoy!
Notes
- Don’t let it boil. It’s really important not to let the mixture boil. However, you also want to heat it up just until the point of boiling. When you start to see lots of steam coming off the milk, that’s an indicator it is getting close to boiling.
- Make it a mocha. For a chocolate peanut butter mocha, add in some homemade chocolate syrup to make it an extra decadent drink.
