Description
These Cherry Vodka Shots are fun & fruity bright red shots that are made with homemade cherry syrup and regular vodka. You don’t need flavored vodka for this recipe!
Ingredients
Scale
- Cherry Syrup:
- 1 cup cherries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Cherry Vodka Shots:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz cherry syrup
Instructions
- Make the cherry syrup. Heat the cherries, granulated sugar and water together in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally and use a fork to burst the cherries as they warm. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, after about 5 to 10 minutes, turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for a few minutes.
- Use a fine mesh strainer to remove all the cherry pieces and pits.
- Make the cherry vodka shots. Add the cherry syrup and vodka to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well for 20 to 30 seconds and strain into a shot glass. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Cherry Syrup: This recipe makes extra cherry syrup. One batch of syrup will be enough to make about 16 shots. Store leftover cherry syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 to 10 days. You can use leftover cherry syrup in this Black Cherry Mojito or these Cherry Margaritas.
