Description

This easy blood orange whiskey sour is the best bourbon sour cocktail to make this winter. It’s not too sweet, and not to heavy on the whiskey, giving it the perfect balance of blood orange flavour and whiskey undertones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz blood orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup*

Instructions

  1. Add the blood orange juice, whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well for 5 to 7 seconds until the outside of the shaker is froster.
  2. Strain and pour into a serving glass prepped with fresh ice. Enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • *See blog post for how to make your own simple syrup.
  • Each blood orange gives 2-3 oz juice. Using a juicer will help you extract the most juice possible.
  • Adjust the whiskey to your taste. If you prefer a stronger drink, add an extra ounce of whiskey.
