Description
This fiery Starbucks pineapple ginger syrup is full of bold flavor. Not only is this the perfect syrup for the classic Starbucks pineapple matcha, but it can be used in many other drinks as well.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tbsp fresh ginger, diced in small chunks
- ¾ cup pineapple nectar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Heat the syrup. On a saucepan over medium to high heat, bring the ginger, pineapple nectar and sugar to a simmer.
- Simmer the syrup. Continue to simmer the syrup, maintaining a moderate simmer for 10 - 15 minutes. The syrup should begin to thicken up and reduce in volume.
- Strain. Remove the syrup from the heat and pass it through a fine mesh sieve to remove all the pieces of ginger. Let the syrup cool to room temperature before using it in any drinks.
Notes
- Storage: Store any leftover syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to several weeks.
- Serving size: This recipe makes about 6 tablespoons of syrup. On average, a drink contains about 1 tablespoon, so this would be enough for about 6 drinks.
