Description
These maple syrup chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy and packed with maple and chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups flour (315g)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ¾ cup butter, unsalted
- 1 egg
- 6 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 ½ tsp maple extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium sized bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt together.
- In a large bowl, cream the brown sugar and butter together until smooth. Beat in the egg, maple syrup, maple extract and vanilla extract.
- In two parts, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing only until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sliced almonds.
- Using a 1 ½ tablespoon scoop, lay out each cookie on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch in between each cookie. Slightly flatten the tops of the cookies.
- Bake for 9 to 13 minutes until the cookies are slightly golden on the outside but still soft on the inside. Let the cookies cool for 10-15 minutes before eating them. Enjoy!
Notes
- Measure the flour with a scale. It is very easy to accidentally add too much flour when measuring flour with measuring cups. Always use a kitchen scale to measure out the correct amount of flour in grams.
- Don’t over bake the cookies. These cookies will be very soft when you remove them from the oven, but as they cool, they will firm up slightly.
