Description
These banana and pear muffins are a healthy treat fresh out of the oven.
Ingredients

- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2/3 cup butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup pears, peeled and diced
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- dash of turbinado sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400F. Grease or line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- In a medium bowl, melt the butter. Mix in the brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs until combined. Then mix in the vanilla extract, milk and mashed bananas.
- In a couple parts, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing only until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced pears and chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin tins. Sprinkle each muffin top with a dash of turbinado sugar.
- As soon as you put the muffin tray in the oven to bake, decrease the oven temperature to 375F. Continue baking for 25-30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

- Store these muffins in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
