Description

This classic Espresso Martini recipe is easy to make in less than 5 minutes. All you need is vodka, Kahlua, espresso, simple syrup a few coffee beans.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz espresso, freshly brewed
  • 1/2 oz Kahlua
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 3 coffee beans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the vodka, espresso, Kahlua and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosted. 
  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with the three coffee beans (optional) and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the strength. Espresso martinis are classically strong, spirit-forward cocktails. To reduce the strength, cut the amount of vodka in half and/or double the amount of simple syrup.
  • Getting a frothy top: In order to get a frothy top to this cocktails, it is important to use freshly brewed espresso and to shake the cocktail very vigorously.
